The Honest Filter: Who Actually Does the Editing?
Before comparing apps, separate them by who performs the edit, because that single question eliminates most of the “order editing” list. A merchant searching for order editing usually wants one outcome: the customer fixes their own order so it never becomes a support ticket. Many popular apps cannot do that at all.
Here is the real segmentation, based on each app’s live capabilities in 2026.
| App | What it is actually built for | Can the customer self-edit? |
|---|---|---|
| Revize | Customer order editing | Yes |
| OrderEditing.com | Customer order editing | Yes |
| Cleverific | Order editing (staff-first, plus a customer portal) | Yes |
| Shopify native | Built-in admin order editing | No, staff only |
| Richpanel | AI help desk and customer service | Check configured self-service actions |
| AfterShip Tracking/Returns | Order Edits | Yes, Order Edits on Premium+ Tracking/Returns |
Choose from your own ticket data. Tracking addresses delivery questions; customer editing addresses eligible pre-fulfillment changes. AfterShip Order Edits overlaps with Revize on editing, so do not assume that two editing tools can coexist without conflicts. Check plan coverage and test the exact workflow before enabling it.
Native Shopify provides staff order editing. Customers can request cancellation of eligible unfulfilled items through customer accounts, but the merchant processes the request. Native tools do not provide customer address, variant or quantity editing on the original order.
Richpanel is a customer-service platform with AI agents and self-service tools. Its rating is 4.9 as of October 2026. Check which customer actions its configured portal supports; a help desk and a dedicated original-order editor should be compared by workflow, not by a blanket exclusion.
AfterShip now offers Order Edits, which lets customers edit the original order before shipment: address, variant, quantity, product additions, discounts and cancellation. It is available on Premium and above in AfterShip Tracking and Returns. Tracking and post-delivery returns remain separate jobs; a free tracking plan does not include Order Edits.

The Three Dedicated Editors We Compare
We compare three dedicated Shopify order-editing apps here: Revize, OrderEditing.com, and Cleverific. The inclusion rule is a customer-facing flow that changes the original order before fulfillment. This is a non-exhaustive shortlist; AfterShip Order Edits and other apps also offer customer editing.
| Revize | OrderEditing.com | Cleverific | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer self-serve editing | Yes | Yes | Yes (portal) |
| Free plan | Yes ($0) | No | No |
| Starting paid tier | $49/mo | $99/mo | $59/mo; 100 edits |
| Rating (reviews) | 5.0 (126) | 5.0 (344) | 4.6 (233) |
| Built for Shopify | Yes | No | Not shown |
| Store-credit refunds | Yes (Pro) | Not stated | Yes |
| Post-purchase upsells | Yes (Pro) | Yes | Yes |
App Store ratings and review counts as of October 2026, checked October 14. Counts refer to the named app listing, not every product in the vendor’s suite. Revize, OrderEditing.com, Cleverific.
Revize offers a free plan with 20 order edits per month and carries the Built for Shopify badge. Within the three dedicated editors compared here, it is the option with a free plan. This is not a claim of exclusivity across the App Store.

Where Revize Fits
Revize is built for high-volume Shopify Plus, Advanced and Grow merchants. Customers include Square Enix, Venchi, Shelly, Nude Project, AYBL and TheGameCollection. Evaluate the customer-editing flow and fulfillment path on your own stack rather than inferring an outcome from a customer name.
Revize Free includes 20 edits per month. Starter costs $49/month for unlimited edits. Pro costs $149/month for unlimited edits plus product replacement, additions/upsells, store credit, invoices and discount, shipping and tax recalculation. Prices checked October 14, 2026; compare the plan limits with your own edit volume.
The Revize rules engine requires Pro. Set conditions, deadlines and available modules around your operation. A fulfillment hold only protects orders if the downstream system respects it; confirm your warehouse’s hold, capture or release-tag workflow before rollout. The Until fulfillment window does not itself place a hold.
Revize lets customers change addresses, contact details, variants and quantities, remove items, and cancel eligible orders before fulfillment within your edit window. Product replacement and additions/upsells, store-credit refunds, invoices, and discount, shipping and tax recalculation require Pro. Additional payment is collected through Shopify checkout.

The Controls That Make Revize Work at Scale
What separates an enterprise-grade editor from a basic one is governance: control over who can edit what, when, and under which conditions. This is the depth a free-plan-and-a-badge summary misses, and why Revize holds up at high volume.
The Revize rules engine is available on Pro and above. Match order tags, customer tags, metafields, order value, destination country, shipping method, B2B status, subscription status, pickup, sales channel, day of the week and time window. Use these conditions to set editing deadlines and control which portal modules are available.
Configure your WMS or Shopify Flow to add a stop tag such as picked or wms:processing, and register the same tag under Order edit restrictions → Order tags. It closes that order’s edit window immediately, overriding the remaining timer. Protection depends on the fulfillment system respecting Shopify holds, importing only Paid orders under manual capture, or waiting for the configured release tag. Until fulfillment does not itself place a hold.
How Revize Compares to the Other Two Editors
OrderEditing.com offers customer self-service editing and upsells, with volume-based pricing. Cleverific offers customer editing alongside staff editing and starts at $59/month for 100 edits. Compare the edit limits and fulfillment workflow, not just the starting price.
Does AfterShip or Shopify Let Customers Edit Orders?
Shopify’s native editor serves staff. AfterShip Order Edits provides customer editing on the Premium+ plans described above.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Shopify order editing app in 2026?
Revize is a candidate for high-volume Plus, Advanced and Grow stores that need customer self-service; choose by required features and fulfillment fit.
Which apps actually let customers edit their own orders on Shopify?
Revize, OrderEditing.com and Cleverific offer customer editing; AfterShip Order Edits also does on Tracking/Returns Premium+. This list is not exhaustive.
Does AfterShip let customers edit their orders after purchase?
Yes. AfterShip Order Edits supports customer changes to the original order before shipment on Premium+ in Tracking and Returns.
Can customers edit their own orders on Shopify without an app?
No. Customer address, variant and quantity edits require an app; native cancellation requests still need merchant processing.
Is there a free Shopify order editing app?
Yes. Revize Free includes 20 order edits per month; check the plan requirements for the specific features you need.
Is Richpanel an order editing app?
Richpanel is a customer-service platform. Check the actions enabled in its self-service portal rather than assuming every portal edits the original order.
How much do Shopify order editing apps cost?
Cleverific starts at $59/month for 100 edits, with higher tiers and overages. Revize Starter is $49/month for unlimited edits; Pro is $149/month for Pro features. Compare the total cost at your actual edit volume. Cleverific pricing, checked October 14, 2026.
What is the Built for Shopify badge and why does it matter?
Built for Shopify is Shopify’s badge for apps that meet its performance, design and integration standards. Among the apps discussed here, Revize and AfterShip Tracking carry it. The badge signals app quality; check feature coverage and warehouse compatibility separately. Shopify’s standards.
Do order editing apps actually reduce support tickets?
They can remove eligible order-change requests from the support queue when customers complete those changes themselves. In Revize’s dataset, 92.2% of post-purchase edits were completed without an agent (Revize, 2026); that is an edit-completion rate, not a measured reduction in total support tickets. Measure your own before-and-after ticket volume.
What happens if a customer tries to edit after the order ships?
Most apps, including Revize, close the customer-facing edit window once fulfillment is triggered. The customer sees a message that the order can no longer be changed. Configure the window to match your warehouse cutoff, typically one to four hours, so edits only happen while your operation can still act on them without a misship.
Can I set different order editing rules for B2B or VIP customers?
Yes. Revize Pro rules can match B2B status or customer tags to set different deadlines and available editing modules for those customers.
Does Revize work on all Shopify plans?
Revize’s portal works on all Shopify plans and headless storefronts. Its intended fit is high-volume Plus, Advanced and Grow merchants. Revize Pro features still require the Pro app plan, regardless of the Shopify tier.
The Bottom Line
Choose by the changes customers need to make, the plan that includes those changes, and the hold-and-release method your warehouse actually follows. Test that combination on your own fulfillment setup before rolling it out.
